Meet Emma, one of our Optical Advisors, whose inspiring journey in the industry and talent for helping clients step out of their comfort zone make her an invaluable part of our team!

Tell us about yourself:

I'm happily married with four wonderful children who bring immense joy to my life. Outside of work, I love traveling, exploring new cultures, and creating lasting memories. I also enjoy outdoor activities, especially country walks, for a peaceful escape amidst beautiful scenery.

How long have you been in the optical industry?

I started in the optical industry in 1997 at 16 and quickly found my passion for helping people, precision work, and constant learning. Over the years, I've gained extensive experience in eyewear, lenses, and customer care.

I joined The Spectacle Factory in 2020 and I've never looked back! I love being part of a company that is so passionate about innovation, quality, and exceptional customer service.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

There are so many things I love about my job, but the best part has to be meeting new people every day and witnessing their eyewear transformations. It’s amazing to see the difference the right pair of glasses can make—not just to someone's vision, but to their confidence and overall style.

I also enjoy the technical side of the job, particularly solving problems and tackling tricky repairs. There’s something really satisfying about fixing a pair of glasses that someone thought was beyond repair and seeing their relief and happiness when they get them back in perfect condition.

Can you give us one eyewear styling tip?

My advice is to not be afraid to stepping out of your comfort zone when choosing eyewear! Glasses are an extension of your personality, and sometimes the styles you wouldn't normally consider can end up being the most flattering and exciting choices.

Whether it’s a bold colour, an interesting shape, or a new material, experimenting with different frames can completely transform your look and boost your confidence. So, be open-minded and have fun with it!
